The Exam
Here is a breakdown of the types of questions that will be on the exam. There are 80 questions on the final exam, plus an essay.
- Essay Question: You will be required to read a speech by a famous American and right a 4-pargraph analysis.
- Reading Passage #1: You will read a short excerpt from a novel (about a page) and answer 8 multiple choice questions, This is similar to the types of reading tests you've been taken since you entered school many years ago.
- Passages from The Odyssey: You will be required to read 10 short passages from the Odyssey. Following each passage are 3-4 multiple choice questions. The Odyssey review quizzes will help you prepare.
- Passage from Great Expectations: You will read a passage from Great Expectations and answer 10 multiple choice questions. The passage is about a page long. The quizzes--in class and practice--will help you prepare.
- Non-fiction Passage: You will be required to read a non-fiction passage about a page long and answer eight multiple choice questions.
- Roots: There are two matching sections, Each section has 14 roots. Check out the roots review section to prepare.
